Sugokuii Events is a full-service, boutique wedding and event design studio. We specialize both in small & chic, intimate & luxurious, charming & vintage and large & stylish custom designed destination weddings and special celebrations in most of Italy and the Caribbean, with our main focus on two of the most wonderful islands in the world; Capri, Italy and St. Barth in the French West Indies.
We are based and divide the year amongst a villa & design studio on the beautiful island of Capri in summer and a Caribbean styled bungalow & design studio in St. Barth in winter, where we design both the largest and smallest weddings with equal amounts of personalization, creativity and precision. In between this, we design a few luxury events for exclusive fashion and jewellery brands in various cities around the world.
St Barth Location Scouting
St Barth is an island full of amazing, picturesque settings, locations and venues that are sometimes too beautiful for words to describe. We pride ourselves on knowing some of the most unique areas of the island in which to have a wedding - including many off-the-path ”secret” wedding ceremony locations and unique beach coves, as well as amazing venues and private bungalows with unbelievable views. Local knowledge like this can only be acquired, if you are based on the island – unlike 98% of other wedding planners in other regions who advertise planning a wedding in St Barth – they tend to always end up planning a wedding in the same hotel dining room used by all. We believe there is so much more to the beauty of St Barth than this!
Wedding Designs in St Barth
We love designing island inspired weddings – and conceptualizing e.g. intimate vintage styled St Barth inspired wedding ceremonies in off-the-path outdoor in a Caribbean styled private bungalow, sea side inspired dinners in shades of mints, aqua greens, baby blues, creams or corals, as well as contemporary styled white weddings at open aired venues with dancing under the stars -- all designed with a good portion local charm and respect for the islands’ traditions. That being said, we custom design each wedding and personally work closely with each bride and groom in assuring that their personal style and background is reflected in their wedding whether it is for a small intimate wedding for 6 or a larger scaled wedding for 100 or more. We create and produce the entire wedding or event through one creative vision to ensure every detail is handled properly, from design to planning to execution.
St Barth Contemporary-Luxury
A 4 day wedding celebration might start on a Thursday evening with a rehearsal dinner or a wedding at a chic, contemporary styled multi-level indoor/outdoor seaside venue, custom decorated for the wedding in a stylish island inspired ambiance with crisp-white linens and a white & aqua-blue or sand & coral inspired color palette. The venue might be lit up by dozens of contemporary designed lanterns giving a dim and warm lighting throughout, with the entire venue flowing with long white linens hanging as curtains and draped a la Delano, custom designed in St Barth for this particular venue. Dinner might suddenly be interrupted by the music of a live original French-Caribbean steel band, setting a lively beach tone for the rest of the evening by the sea. After dinner, guests might dance outside, under the stars, to a French DJ spinning contemporary music and guests might sip creative French inspired cocktails and a selection of midnight mini snacks might be passed around on trolleys that might include mini French “milk shakes”, mini French style cotton candy, “granité” and more.
